And it keeps pouring down..

Weather
Wow, we hit the big one! We are under a Winter Storm Warning, because of Winter Storm Saturn, since 3am this morning and it's still going until 12am. I think I haven't seen it stop, not even for a minute. I believe they said for the first 5hours of 2-3 inches, then the 2nd half of 6+ hours 4-6 inches. I think its more than that, combined, but we'll see. At least my dad has a great snow blower, but lets hope the jealous crazy neighbors don't mess up his piling method by the garage. I found a really funny picture that probably describes how everyone in Chicago/Illinois feels about this storm...

Music
Lately, I been hearing great songs on tv commercials. When that happens, I try to Shazam that mofo song quickly, just to know who it's by and read the lyrics. Mainly, the lyrics are the ones that catch my attention to the song, but at other times its just the great beat. Here are 4 songs that have caught my attention already and downloaded recently:

*Heard this one in a commercial for the History Channel and instantly loved it! Love the music video as well.. don't mess with stuffed animals.

*I heard this one before and couldn't pin point it, but then I figured it out.. a commercial for Breaking Amish show on TLC.

*I heard this one on a commercial for a car. I forget what make and model of the car commercial, but yeah.

*I just heard this one on the radio. I'm not sure if it has been on a tv commercial, but I wouldn't doubt it.

Art projects and similar
So I have been improving my photography skills, my nail art skills, and well now on to a new boat in art projects. I have posted a preview recently of my most recent art project I'm working on in my Facebook and hopefully it catches on to get customers. Here is the preview:

My most recent attempt at a new nail art method:
Ombre Nail Art
I wouldn't mind doing this method for other people aka customers and I believe I got a customer already, but not sure if it's definite and if it will happen. I mentioned it as a joke, charging 10$ (cheaper than nail salons I'm sure), and well got a hit.. not sure if its true though, we'll see.

Voting and s'mere luck!
So my sis entered my nephew in a photo contest. Sadly it is not a photo I took of him, but still a nice fun thing to do while he's young. I'm asking people, anyone, to vote for him as many times as you can daily, when you can. Here is the link and enjoy!

I think I am, or my sis.. mom and I, are destined to see Theresa Caputo Live! There are tickets available for a show of her's coming soon here in Illinois and my God, I hope we can get those tickets very soon and be read. Hopefully we can, I need it.. I need a reading from my grandma asap!

What's in a name?

Well there's not much to say in my end. I did my chores around my room and well, chores in the kitchen...so not much new there. Be warned, my life will turn boring very soon, since I won't be going out much during week or so until the weekend. I would like to go out and change that, but I don't like hanging out by myself, so yeah. Anyways, we'll see what happens right?

Learning to Fly

I never explained my nickname from the internet, heck no one has ever asked me where I got it from. I'm guessing that's why I just never felt the need to explain it, but since I'm sure there is a quiet audience reading my blogs, aka people who don't post comments and the alike, I guess I can explain my nickname. On to the explaining shall we?

I never really had a nickname before this one. Sure, people know me by a short specific name, but that's outside the internet world and I'm not talking about that. Where did I get this nickname? Why this one? Why not a shorter one or just something different? Well, a friend of mine, who is no longer a friend of mine in these days, introduced me to Pink Floyd the band. I got to hear many of their songs and started to like them a lot, since I can relate to their lyrics. Once I hit "Learning to Fly" and listened carefully to the words, I came to realize I really relate to this particular song. I've also seen the music video to the song and well, fell in love with it as well.

At first when I saw it, I was just at odds with it since it didn't fit well with the lyrics and what they said. Then with time it sunk in more and more. I really like it to the point of downloading the video and converting it for my Psp. Once it sunk in, I got really fascinated by birds and well flying. Just thinking deep with my life and comparing it with this song, it hit well. I was always trapped in my life, didn't go anywhere, didn't get invited to anything while I was in high school, and once I hit college... I felt freer. Graduating, going to college, traveling there on my own- buses, trains...something I never done before; I just felt free.

I was confident of myself and well felt dependent doing all of that on my own, heck my sister never went to college, so I was glad I was the first to do so in my generation in the family. The song stuck with me, the name of the song stuck with me and hence why I keep using it. Once I hit another site called "Gaia Online", I met many friends there and they shortened it for me to Fly. No not as the annoying pestering bug, but as the word Fly...soaring. I have learned to fly on my own, as in traveling on a airplane, which is something I always wanted to do on my own. One day, when I have the time and money to do so, I would like to travel around the world, at least once or twice a year.

There is another song I like, that revolves around the word Fly. It is by U2, another great band, with great lyrics and beat that fit the lyrics perfectly. The song, ironically, is called "The Fly". You would be hearing me say or type up some of their lyrics in Facebook or just mention any of these bands in my profile. I love them that much because they can relate to anyone. I was fortunate enough to see them twice in concert here in Chicago. I wish I was able to see them this year at Solider Field, but I wasn't able to sadly. If they ever go back to touring, I would definitely go to it and hopefully get my boyfriend to see them in concert.

Well, this was only some of the bands I do like and listen to and the explanation to my nickname online. Don't make fun of me for it, since it does have meaning to me, but now you know why I stick with it every time.
