Movie Reviews:
"The Raven"
My parents and I saw it on opening night. I never really read any of his poems or short stories, but I knew it was going to be good and I know what his most famous ones are about. Just take all his famous or well known stories and bring them to life, in a very twisted way. Plot to the movie is someone wanting revenge towards Edgar Allan Poe, almost as an admirer gone psycho, and using Poe's stories as a map into how and where to kill the next victim. Of course someone very close to Poe is one of the victims and is part of chain of events that unfolds others. Must say it now, if you are not a fan of gore or blood, lots of it, then I really suggest you not seeing it!! Fan or not a fan of Edgar Allan Poe's work, its still a definite must see. I liked how they put together his famous or well known short stories as chain events that totally blend well together and also how detailed his stories went. John Cusack playing Mr. Poe himself was a great pick and another person you will recognized (cause I did) was Kevin McNally (
Pirates of the Caribbean series franchise). 5 out of 5 stars and a totally must see as I mentioned earlier!! It made me get my sister's book, "The Works of Edgar Allan Poe" and look through it right after getting home from seeing it. I must find them online and try my darn best to read some and get inspiration. Great movie!

"
The Five-Year Engagement"
Parents and my sis and myself saw this movie on Friday. So, this movie wasn't really on my "I really want to see" list, but the thought was there in seeing it. Basically the plot of the movie is in the title. A couple meet and well date for a year and get engaged and once that happens, complications arise throughout the years. The complications aren't really that bad or wrong in anyway possible, but it does bring even more problems along the way. At first the movie starts slow, caught myself yawning a lot of times but I'm sure its not the movies fault, but it was slow. There were a lot of cute moments and gestures between the two of them throughout their relationship and engagement, their time together. There was also funny and odd moments, that balanced out the slowness of the movie and the ending was really cute I must admit. Some moments in the movie reminded me of my relationship and of course I smiled when they appeared. 3 1/2 - 4 out of 5 stars for this movie and if you're a fan of these type of movies, then go for it and see it...but I suggest taking your significant other/partner/lover with you, you will enjoy it more with them!

Prayers needed
I would just like to take time to ask for prayers for my uncle, my mom's brother (confined to a wheelchair cause of muscular dystrophy) that lives in Mexico, isn't really doing well. He has been sick for 2 weeks and although cure from the illness he had, it has made him weak and to the point of him being depressed and him saying his body can't take it anymore. At the moment, I am not sure what the steps my family is going to take, but the thought of traveling to see him is totally there. It was basically the first action my mom has brought up and it might be very soon, as in this coming week, but we're not positively sure what day this week. If it does happen, I will be traveling with my mom, but we are not sure how long we will stay. Just please pray for him and that his spirit/soul will recover soon and have high hopes/happiness to move forward. Thank you to all who will keep him in their prayers!!
