Smooth sailing~

Almost a year
Oh my, I haven't been keeping my end of the bargain in this blog.. sorry about that, if anyone is still reading this, besides me lol! So, a whole lot has happened since last post in here, obviously. It is a new year, so Happy New Year 2015 to everyone!! I hope your year thus far has gone smooth and if not, it will lighten up and you still got half a year to make it a great one for you. As usual, let's break each new thing as a section here shall we?

New jobs
So, last post was in June 2014 and at that point I think I have been in Texas for 2 weeks or less than that and with no job. I did go to interviews, a few weeks afterwards, but no dice or cigar (I don't gamble or smoke mind you). I did dip into Craigslist and Indeed while job hunting and finally got a job offer like 5-10 minutes away from where I live at, with Eric. I was glad that it was a walking distance away, I didn't want to bother him with me going all the way to downtown and back for his job or make him worry of me taking public transportation here. So basically I said I didn't want a job in a calling center, but guess what type of job I got? Yes, at a call center haha. I got a job with a pharmaceutical company and met and gained great friends there, but sadly the program didn't last long with funds and they gave us options of other accounts in the last 2 weeks of the year. I decided to stay, along with my fellow friends/coworkers and so we merged to another account, the same account, which is ironically another pharmaceutical company and based in North Chicago (lol). We were all nervous in this new job, due to the description of the position, but as any job, we got 3 weeks of training and it went well, along with gaining even more friends.

At this point, with the job I'm currently, I am content, along with the nature of the job. I work for AbbVie, which produces medications like Humira and now Viekira Pak (yes, you heard of Humira). Viekira Pak is the medication regarding patients with Hepatitis C. Don't worry, you will be seeing very soon lots of Ads about Hep C, Viekira Pak and quite possibly proCeed itself. I'm basically a proCeed Advisor, which assists patients with Hep C enroll in the program that will help guide them along the way with their treatment, enrollment and also with financial assistance. Yes, we have tons of resources within this program. So, f you or know someone with Hepatitis C, please let them know to talk to their healthcare provider about Viekira Pak and log into our site www.viekira.com for more information about the medication and program. We don't want them to go through that alone, we are here to help and guide. Of course I will be in the bilingual side of the program, so we do have Spanish agents as well. So thus far, with this job, it's been pretty good as well and I hope it sticks around, not just for me and everyone else to have a job, but to help those with Hep C mainly.

An engagement and finally a date!
So on Labor Day, Eric did propose to me. My parents were in town due to dropping off my car, so we could have it and my dad buying a new vehicle. He was waiting for the right time and moment to do so and he took all of us to the Botanical Garden in Austin and he picked the scenery for the water fountain, perfect spot. Both my parents were happy and I was happy, cried even, in the moment while he asked. After a couple of months, we really didn't talk about when we should plan for the wedding date. We weren't sure, obviously, but by the beginning of this year in 2015, we decided on a date. We originally wanted it to be in November, when its not that hot and not that cold out, but the place we wanted our ceremony and reception at was booked for the date we wanted in November. So we went with the next date available, August 22nd. So yes, our wedding will be on August 22, 2015. We got the venue, we got most of the planning and decorations planned out and such and we will be having our Bridal Shower/Reception in Chicago in the end of April for the people who cannot make it to the wedding in August to Texas. I am making my centerpieces, got most of the decorations bought and half way done with the centerpieces already. A lot of my coworkers are helping in whichever way they can and we are so blessed with it, since my family is in Chicago still. My family is helping with what they can in their end, along with the Reception party in April. So mainly everything is coming into place thus far and yes, I have gotten the dress!

Camera, gifts and more!
Eric bought me, for Christmas, a DSLR camera and was super excited! I was expecting it, but needed to wait for it to be delivered. Along with the camera, I got some nice pictures with birds on them from his mom, an autographed picture of David Duchovny from one of his sisters, and a new set of pots and pans. I can't remember what else I got, but those are the ones that stick the most. Eric, or we, gave everyone a console of their liking along with games. Keep the kids entertained on a rainy day or so. My family got gift cards, a popcorn maker (for dad, he loves popcorn) and my mom some skecher shoes. I was able to go to my nephews 2nd birthday, but I went alone due to Eric not having enough hours. In the long run, everyone was happy with their gifts and we will not be doing that type of git giving again.. too expensive lol.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I missed anything out. Everything thus far is smooth sailing and I hope it stays this way. I like typing in this again, makes me think of the big stuff that occurred in our lives that I am willing to share with everyone who still reads this and cares. Hmm, maybe I might have some other good news by the end of this month and no its not the baby kind ok? lol.
