"Its beginning to look like Christmas..."

Weather

Ahoy!! The snow came during the night and left about 2 inches or so for us, but by the looks of it...it won't stay for long. I kinda knew it was coming, but eh...it doesn't hurt me much and I know it won't last long.

My backyard...lovely isn't it? -.-

2 in 1 jacket

My dad has been looking for a store that specifically has many of these jackets brands called, "The North Face". Finally, we found more variety in a store called "Dick's Sporting Goods" (oddly named store is...not really odd). I decided, "Since we're here then I'm going to look for one myself!" and off I went to check out what catches my eye. I found one that I really liked and no wonder I liked it...*looked at the price* 250$ and I went "Damn!!" Though my mom brought up a good logic to it, "Its a great brand, it will last you 5+ years. So each year, it will be 50$ paid off for it, by wearing it and it lasting you!" Wondering if I bought it then and there right? Well, I decided not to cause logically my dad said, "Lets try to come back after Christmas. They might have a sale going on then too!" And so, we will wait till then and hopefully I will buy it. Yet once again my mind drifts to the 50/50 stage: Why buy it if I know I can't or won't wear it much?, Brown (only color they had) doesn't match with lots of stuff, It made lots of noise when I moved my arms and such, 250$ is alot of money for one article of clothing, and I can use the 250$ to buy myself a dresser which I really need more than this coat/jacket. While on the other hand: Chicago does get really cold, it looked like a 2 in 1 jacket (can remove the fuzzy stuff from inside it), least I will have a coat/jacket that will last me very long, and its not blue either...something different for a change. I did see another one I really liked too, but add 50$ more to the 250$ and yeah, that's the price and each one I kept liking....the price increased by 50$...argh lol!!! We'll see if I get it or not *smiles*.

Smoque BBQ

As introduced in the show "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" with Guy Fieri as host, he went to this place here in Chicago's North side. I told my parents about it and finally today we went to it. I of course ordered the "Sliced Brisket sandwich" and OMG....it was very tasty!!! My parents had the "St. Louis Ribs" and enjoyed it quiet well that, almost ate them all together. I definitely wouldn't mind going back there anytime and totally recommend it to anyone who wants great baby back ribs and/or brisket!! Their website is here Smoque BBQ and I will bare gifts of my dish and a picture of Guy Fieri's signature there:

Isn't it soo mouth watering? I bet it is!

Guy Fieri's signature on the wall there!

If you missed the episode of him going there, well by the Gods of youtube, here it is:

If this video doesn't convince you to go too, something's wrong with you lol!

I did finish my sandwich, all of it and like I said, I wouldn't mind going back for some more brisket soon or....whenever we can here lol!! The prices are a bit high, but quality over quantity and its all worth it in the end of it all!! The place is tiny and it was jam packed when we arrived, so if you like it to be nice and calm, I suggest going afternoon or whenever they open. If you go during jam packed hours, they will help you reserve a seat for you and your party, if you got more people with you, but the ordering and receiving your food was quick. This place is like, order, sit and eat and leave, no lingering I might add, unless the business is slow of course. So plan ahead and enjoy!!!

 Christmas songs

So heading to the mall after Dick's Sporting Goods store, we walked in to a lady singing Christmas tunes with a band beside her and let me tell you, she was good at it!! I did get video of it and here it is, she got beat lol:

I noticed my foot tapping with the beat, she was good lol!

I took 2 videos of her singing, but this one will do! She also sang a song with the beat of "Mr. Sandman", but changed the lyrics to "Mr. Santa" and boy I wish I recorded that one instead cause she did great on still keeping the beat of the song throughout the whole song. I like things like this going on at malls, all live and direct you might say lol. At the end of it all the day, did I buy anything? Nope lol, all I got was my Brisket sammich...which I've been wanting and craving for weeks now lol. Glad we went and enjoyed the day, ending it with that great dinner!!

Christmas trees and songs already?!!

Weather

Well the weather here has been cold. Its either been in the 50s or just 40s, that feel like in the 30s and some days with cold winds. This whole week during the holiday, it will be mainly in the 50s during the holiday, but I'm sure the cold winds will be back around that time. It also seems that we're going to have a mixture of rain and snow showers this coming Sunday, which sucks, but snow will sooner or later come no matter what.

Christmas lights, trees, decorations, and songs already?!?!

As I literally stepped out of the house and into any store, heck even the mall I came to realize....Christmas theme came early this year. Stores are decorated already, the mall is decorated, Christmas songs are playing in the stores and mall. I thought to myself, "Was everything put out early this year?" and frankly I'm not the only one who is thinking this way about it all. My boyfriend even mentioned it as well and if the story my dad told me is true, then someone else who sued about this and won also thinks that way, lol. Stuff like this happened at least in the week of Thanksgiving, not the beginning of November. Then, the commercial that brings everything into reality, that Christmas really is around the corner is this commercial:

Such a simple commercial and at times cute, but gosh..it really hits you with the sign that it's definitely Christmas time and need to prepare for it all, argh lol!

Movies:
"Jack and Jill"

So I saw the movie "Jack and Jill" with my parents yesterday. Let me just say that it was funny, but most of the funny parts were shown in the commercials for it on tv. Don't get me wrong, it was funny throughout the whole movie, but there were some jokes that weren't seen as jokes, as if they were inside jokes or jokes that only people who pay attention to Adam Sandler's career would understand. I honestly can say I don't do that and heck, I don't like Adam Sandler...I don't think he's funny at all. Why did I go see this movie? I saw it was funny and I like comedy movies and gave it a shot. All in all, it was funny and I'll add this in here, if you're a fan of his then I do recommend seeing it. If you haven't seen the movie tv commercials for it, here it is:

"Super 8"

I saw this movie in the theaters and well, it brought back memories of me in college doing the same thing the kids were doing in it. "Super 8" is finally coming out in dvd form tomorrow and I really wouldn't mind getting it, especially- if I read right, there is a 5$ off coupon for the special edition of it. If you have seen it and want it, it will be in stores tomorrow and if you haven't totally try to rent it!! It's a total must see!!

Kindle Fire review

I won't add the review here, but I will make a blog out of it tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a week I had it and well, I need to figure out how to proceed with this review and well how to set it up. I have yet to find more apps to add to it, test some other apps I added to it on the road and well, so on, but it will be a week that I have had it tomorrow. I'll see what I come up with and what specifically to talk about it.

Cooking, Ahoy!

An aspect of my life that I just don't wanna touch and well include in my life. I'm not sure why, but I just don't like cooking....by myself. I don't like cooking on my own, I don't like learning how to, and well I just don't like it. I'm afraid that if I do, I'll mess it up and well, just suck at it. I'll follow instruction type of cooking, but other than that...no I won't. Sadly, since I'm home now, unemployed, my parents want me to help out in this aspect and I just don't like the idea. All their homemade dishes aren't written into recipes and so requires me to pay total attention and if I like the dish, I will definitely write the recipe down.

"Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives"

I have recently started watching  this show on the Food Network called "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" aka Triple D. At the hours its on, nothing else that's on was good, so I decided to watch it. There were a couple of places now I do want to visit, mainly here in Illinois and in Texas. I can't recall the names of the placed in Texas, but they are in San Antonio to be exact. I will mention the ones in Chicago cause well, they are the ones I wouldn't mind visiting here: "Nana", "Big and Little's" (not their main website- I think they lack in one) and "Honky Tonk BBQ". Honky Tonk is the main one I wouldn't mind visiting the most cause well, they have Brisket and in a sandwich form...yum!! Check your local listings for "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" and bring a napkin with you, if you start watching it....you might start to drool lol!!

"Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword"
I believe this game is coming out tomorrow, if not it is already out in stores. It looks very interesting and well just plainly awesome!! I wouldn't mind getting it soon, but I will hold up on that, till it gets lower in price....which won't be any time soon, *sighs* lol. I've seen the tv commercials for it and it looks amazing!!
