Other creative paths!

Weather
I must talk about this topic this time around. Chicago has been under a spell of no snow or very cold weather, up until today! I almost wanted to post a status on my FB saying, "For awhile there, Chicago seemed like it was turning into Texas. With.. a lack of snow, har-dy har har!" or something in those lines. We finally got snow, but sadly its dieing down now. Hrm, according to weather channel.. we will be getting more snow. How long will it last? A day.. 2 days.. a week? Not sure, but I hope it stays so I can finally at least take some beautiful pictures of the snow covering the city. If not, then there's no big deal on it. I can always go back to my Photo challenge I created at my Facebook page. If you like ins on this challenge, like have an idea of what I should take pictures of, then leave a note!! I'll try my best on it, but if its anything weather related it just might take the right timing.

Reeling changes
As you may have noticed, I haven't been posting much blog posts such as this one. Frankly, I almost would like to say that there's no point in such updates like these. I'm sure no one cares of what I'm really up to, not artistic wise, and basically nothings totally new in my end. I'm trying to keep things low key and well personal almost. Same goes with my Facebook statuses, if anyone has noticed there! Changes around the blog are obvious.. new layout, more movie reviews, reviews of any kind, and well possibly just update here with new trends I'm getting into. Meee getting into trends? Nevah, but.. yeah sort of, now. Well, as more changes come into the light here then, well you know them. Other personal changes mentioned in previous post like this one are slowly getting there as well.

Artsy nails
When I can't really work on any big art projects I give myself, I find ways to substitute this part in my life. Since I do babysit my nephew, I always have to keep an eye out on him. Anyways, when I get time to I try to paint my nails. I never done this like a lot before 'cause I saw it as a waste of time and well.. money, but if you stretch your dollars right and/or have a sister/friend that has lots of nail polishes you always wanted to try before, then why not experiment! Here's some I've done already on my own nails:

Idea borrowed here.
Others: Crackle black on light blue, Crackle blue on clear and Midnight blue with black stripe.

Alas, these are other ideas I want to pursue on my nails: Dark Side of the Nails and Birdy nails.

Maybe once the weather permits to not bundle up much with clothing, I can wear all of my Pink Floyd accessories and shirts for that look. I still might do this one next week or so, to perfect it. As for the birdy style one.. I do have a birdy shirt, birdy jean pants, a birdy necklace, and well my nails once I find those birdy stickers. I'm sure I'll find other styles to do on that site.. it will occupy my time, give me another art medium to work with, and well get another skill under my belt. I have yet to get into air brush and possibly tattoos, but I'll hold off completely on that tattoo idea.

Editor for hire!
Speaking of other art elements, since I want to get back into writing this year or improve it more.. I'm in dire need of an editor. I had one before, but things happened and well I'm back to square one in this department. If you or someone you know has spare time or does this for a hobby (yes, sorry I didn't pay previous editor), please let me know if you're interested! You will be credited on the front page of my [short] stories, when they're complete! I appreciate the help I get in this area.. Thank you!!

"Its beginning to look like Christmas..."

Weather

Ahoy!! The snow came during the night and left about 2 inches or so for us, but by the looks of it...it won't stay for long. I kinda knew it was coming, but eh...it doesn't hurt me much and I know it won't last long.

My backyard...lovely isn't it? -.-

2 in 1 jacket

My dad has been looking for a store that specifically has many of these jackets brands called, "The North Face". Finally, we found more variety in a store called "Dick's Sporting Goods" (oddly named store is...not really odd). I decided, "Since we're here then I'm going to look for one myself!" and off I went to check out what catches my eye. I found one that I really liked and no wonder I liked it...*looked at the price* 250$ and I went "Damn!!" Though my mom brought up a good logic to it, "Its a great brand, it will last you 5+ years. So each year, it will be 50$ paid off for it, by wearing it and it lasting you!" Wondering if I bought it then and there right? Well, I decided not to cause logically my dad said, "Lets try to come back after Christmas. They might have a sale going on then too!" And so, we will wait till then and hopefully I will buy it. Yet once again my mind drifts to the 50/50 stage: Why buy it if I know I can't or won't wear it much?, Brown (only color they had) doesn't match with lots of stuff, It made lots of noise when I moved my arms and such, 250$ is alot of money for one article of clothing, and I can use the 250$ to buy myself a dresser which I really need more than this coat/jacket. While on the other hand: Chicago does get really cold, it looked like a 2 in 1 jacket (can remove the fuzzy stuff from inside it), least I will have a coat/jacket that will last me very long, and its not blue either...something different for a change. I did see another one I really liked too, but add 50$ more to the 250$ and yeah, that's the price and each one I kept liking....the price increased by 50$...argh lol!!! We'll see if I get it or not *smiles*.

Smoque BBQ

As introduced in the show "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" with Guy Fieri as host, he went to this place here in Chicago's North side. I told my parents about it and finally today we went to it. I of course ordered the "Sliced Brisket sandwich" and OMG....it was very tasty!!! My parents had the "St. Louis Ribs" and enjoyed it quiet well that, almost ate them all together. I definitely wouldn't mind going back there anytime and totally recommend it to anyone who wants great baby back ribs and/or brisket!! Their website is here Smoque BBQ and I will bare gifts of my dish and a picture of Guy Fieri's signature there:

Isn't it soo mouth watering? I bet it is!

Guy Fieri's signature on the wall there!

If you missed the episode of him going there, well by the Gods of youtube, here it is:

If this video doesn't convince you to go too, something's wrong with you lol!

I did finish my sandwich, all of it and like I said, I wouldn't mind going back for some more brisket soon or....whenever we can here lol!! The prices are a bit high, but quality over quantity and its all worth it in the end of it all!! The place is tiny and it was jam packed when we arrived, so if you like it to be nice and calm, I suggest going afternoon or whenever they open. If you go during jam packed hours, they will help you reserve a seat for you and your party, if you got more people with you, but the ordering and receiving your food was quick. This place is like, order, sit and eat and leave, no lingering I might add, unless the business is slow of course. So plan ahead and enjoy!!!

 Christmas songs

So heading to the mall after Dick's Sporting Goods store, we walked in to a lady singing Christmas tunes with a band beside her and let me tell you, she was good at it!! I did get video of it and here it is, she got beat lol:

I noticed my foot tapping with the beat, she was good lol!

I took 2 videos of her singing, but this one will do! She also sang a song with the beat of "Mr. Sandman", but changed the lyrics to "Mr. Santa" and boy I wish I recorded that one instead cause she did great on still keeping the beat of the song throughout the whole song. I like things like this going on at malls, all live and direct you might say lol. At the end of it all the day, did I buy anything? Nope lol, all I got was my Brisket sammich...which I've been wanting and craving for weeks now lol. Glad we went and enjoyed the day, ending it with that great dinner!!
