To square one and... debuts!

Well, I'll make this an actual update besides about The X-Files, but that series will be in this post as well haha. So, let's move on!

Acute Iritis
So back in the Easter timing this year, I fell ill with a cold or shall I say Allergies that developed into a cold. Yes, it sucks and no I didn't know that I even had allergies. Technically I don't, I'm not allergic to anything- meds, food, pets, etc. I'm glad for it, but I guess once I moved to Austin, it either developed or they're just worse down here than in Chicago. Anyways, a week after my cold started to settle and leave me, my eyes felt weird.. just not right. I never had this before, so it scared me. My eyes will suddenly get watery, move in the forms of light spasms and were very red around the coloring of my eyes. Every fast move, like a car, will just make me feel ill and almost to the point of wanting to nap and close my eyes quickly while rolling them. I guess you can say, like if you were tipsy or drunk?, I never been drunk so I can't or shouldn't compare it to that. I let those symptoms take control and thought to myself that it will go away on its own. It occurred for 3 more days until of course I had enough and knew it wasn't going to go away on its own.

I first went to a Rediclinic, to see if they knew what I had. Bam! They told me I might have acute iritis. I had no idea what it was then, but after tons of googling its either caused by inflammation or trauma to my eyes (aka got hit). Rediclinic Dr told me that I had to go to ER or my eye Dr ASAP. I freaked and started to cry and while that occurred Eric would call the eye Dr to see if they can fit me in. No, was the short answer. I had no choice but to go to ER and so I did. Basically I was told it was it there, but I should see a specialist. So got a referral and waited to be seen. Specialist saw me and poked my eyes as well and... I was back to square one; I may and may not have acute iritis. Trust me, this condition, wasn't acute one at all (pun intended).  All in all, it went away and I resulted as to why I got it cause of strong dry coughs I had during my cold. Oddly enough, I got it again, but in one eye now. What I'm doing now to prevent it or just ease it is just taking vitamin C pills, fish oil pills and anything else that has tons of vitamin C in them. Eric is being very helpful and caring through all of this, he has bought me the pills and cooked me dinner full of that big C! I just hope it doesn't occur again.. soon.

Rain, rain, don't go away?
We have been having tons of cloudy days and some very rainy ones. Many, I'm sure, who has lived in Austin all of their lives will agree that they need it around here. They've been in long droughts for I believe several years or in that category at least. Lakes need it, grass needs it, heck.. everyone needs it somehow around here (farmers, etc). I'm glad we are getting it, but give it a rest for 2 days at least. We've been on this spell for a week straight and yes, some pauses here and there, but... geeze! As of right now, the sun is out full blast, but will it stay this way?

Now, on to the fun part I guess!

Aquarius

So, there will be a new show out on NBC in late May (May 28 to be exact). Its about David Duchovny's character, a detective, being in the era of Charles Manson and asked by a friend to help locate their missing daughter. Of course we all know the cult he had going on and maybe this girl joined it. It sounds interesting in my opinion, but let's see how it goes!

Hell or Highwater

I think you see a pattern here right? Well, David Duchovny has debuted in being a singer. His titles: Actor, director, writer, and now singer. I'm sure there's more titles he's got under his belt or the one he got from going to Yale. Anyways, his album had a release date of May 12th and I'm not sure if its officially out, but I have heard one song from it and boy, can he sing. I just might have to convince Eric to take me to Best Buy or Target! Go and check it out! I know I will.

X-Files Updates
So, we finally made it here! We finally got a debut date as to when they will start airing the show. It will be on Fox Sunday nights (9 or 10pm, depending on time zone) and the date *drum roll* will be on January 25th, 2016. We have also found out that there will be a mix of mythology episodes along with monsters.I guess they're keeping hush hush on these episode, just like the 2 movies. Well, if they're going that extra road then it means they will all be great! Even David Duchovny doesn't know what they will be about in great detail.. just the monster and mythology parts. You can hear him say so in his interview here with EW. Let's see what more clues they give us in the next coming weeks.

More updates of the classic!

Well, since the last post a lot of updates have changed. I'll keep my personal updates short for most of you in this post. I went back home, Chicago, for the weekend with my fiancee and we were busy back to back. From attending C2E2 a whole day to a Bridal Shower the next day. I was just glad to see everyone who did show up and the gifts that were given.. Thank you! Now, onto the main point to this post.

The X-Files

So, we were left off with letting us know that there would be 6 episodes of the show. Then, I read an article later on, that there was going to be more than 6 episodes, which by all means (if its true) that we will still welcome it with open arms. No matter how many we get or they decide to add, we the fans will not deny or say no to them. By all means, make a movie after those episodes air or revive it for a whole new 16-22 ish episodes/season. I wish I found the article that states of more episodes, I really do. Anywho, I did see it somewhere or maybe my mind is playing tricks in wanting more episodes, but like I already stated, we will welcome them! Now, from what I have gathered, they will start filming these episodes in the Summer of 2015, which is right around the corner. We also learned that Mitch Pileggi (Assistant Director Skinner) and William B. Davis (Smoking Man/Cancer Man) will be coming back to the show as well. Just recently, I read an article (spoiler alert), that states that the Lone Gunmen were also coming back. Yes, they did die, but with this now in the open... they "died" then. It also seems that Chris Carter will make each episode as stand alone ones, but they tie up together from the show or the chain. Also, it seems that the relationship of Mulder and Scully is going to be revealed or shown more into detail. We all thought that heck, they had a kid, they were in bed together in the last movie... sooo they're together right? Of course! It seems it will be explained. Most of these topics I did find in that article, so if you don't want any spoilers then don't click the link!! I just wonder what is next? It seems there's no go for Gish and Patrick to come back, or maybe they will leave that till the end. Well what do you think of those spoilers or new news? Do you think it will have a better feel than before or the same?

The endearing revival of a classic!

So, this blog post is dedicated to.. you guessed it, The X-Files! If there is any fan out there reading this, well, welcome!! As of 3/24/2015 we all got or heard the news that FOX has finally got to their senses of reviving this show in some shape or form. Whatever shape or form it is, we the fans, will take it with open arms. Sure, we wanted another movie and yes we heard of it coming back with different cast members and Mulder and Scully doing cameos in a new version of The X-Files and yes, we did get the show back in a completely different format- comic books, but deep down inside of all us Xphiles.. it wasn't the same. We knew, or some of us, that remaking the show wasn't gonna cut it due to it not being the same actors and many different elements being changed in it, so it wasn't going to please us 100% and we would've found issues and done complaints via the internet. So, what I'm getting at, is that we are going to be happy with this revival... this beautiful reunion between our beloved characters, Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully. Now, you must be asking yourself, why make a post about this if there's many sites already announcing the same thing. Well, lets start shall we, or I mean me.

The Ending
We were left off with Mulder and Scully being in New Mexico due to Mulder getting a tip of an old wise man knowing about the future and how it was going to end. The old wise man turned out to be The Cigarette Smoking Man and ironically Smoking Man dying in his hideout. Mulder and Scully surviving the explosion and driving to a hotel room and just talk. Mulders last words to Scully were:
"that the dead are not lost to us. That they speak to us as part of something greater than us—greater than any alien force. And if you and I are powerless now, I want to believe that if we listen to what's speaking, it can give us the power to save ourselves. Maybe there's hope."
What they both discover with Smoking Man is that the world would end in 12/22/2012 and the colonization will begin with the new alien race, a new age. Of course, the episode ends that way, both being in their hotel bed and caressing each other. 6 years later, we did receive the movie "The X-Files: I Want to Believe", but it had no relation to the shows ending. It was a stand alone episode in the big screen, which is what Chris Carter wanted for new people to draw into the phenomena and the old fans to enjoy seeing their beloved characters again and on the big screen. It didn't seem to go well with the variety of the people, due to the box office numbers aka money. Alas, we got another movie and opportunity to see our characters again, along with the plot of the movie being bizarre and out of this world.. like any other X-Files episode of course. If you haven't seen the movie, go ahead and do so, but if you're not into gross out things of beheading and the alike, then don't and if you were looking into seeing what occurred after the last episode then don't bother as I stated earlier. The movie has no relation to the shows ending.

So, where does that leave us again? We need to find William of course and see if the world ended or how to explain that it didn't end. Last we saw of William was being given to adoption to protect him and his life (Season 9: Episode 9 Provenance & 10  Providence). In the comic book version of the show titled, "The X-Files season 10" by IDW,  the first 5 comics talk about their son and a new race of aliens called The Acolytes and how they're a reminder of the shape shifter aliens we have met before, but with new "powers". I don't want to reveal too much of this part, due to if anyone hasn't read or had the time to read the comics. Let's just say, it didn't end well and we're on square one again.

My prediction or view on what's going to occur in the 6 episode revival is that, I hope, we finally get to see William reunited with his parents unharmed. Some loose ends should finally be tied with a resolution, besides the William story of course, like of the colonization and the new alien race and the world not ending. At least seeing a glimpse of Agent Doggett and Agent Reyes being somewhat part of all this since they were dragged into it. But, how will they be able to pull it off with just 6 episodes? Will they automatically jump into it with Mulder and Scully stepping foot into their old trashed office again, in the basement, or will they be given separate desks or any desks at all like in The X-Files: I Want to Believe movie or did Skinner hear about their child being in trouble in some way, without any of them knowing its their kid they're investigating in a bizarre case? There are so many different ways they can start the show again. Let me recap that part:

Ways of how the shows revival can start:

  • A bizarre case of a teenager being given to Skinner, hence The X-Files being reopened and linked to their missing child
  • Mulder and Scully find clues of their childs' whereabouts and needing the FBI's help, hence them returning to The X-files
  • Two new pair of agents receive a case with bizarre situations that lead into the whereabouts of Mulder and Scullys child
  • The Acolytes being introduced and trying to take over the world
  • Mulder receiving another tip of The Acolytes, that give him clues of his child's whererabouts and Mulder needing Scully's help
  • Recapping what occurred during the 6 year MIA of the agents and the end of the world, in the sense of flashbacks
  • Flashbacks of the whereabouts of William that lead to the present day, being with his parents
My mind can continue with many more ideas into how they can jump into the series again, but for sure in my opinion, they should explain where William  has been and what occurred to him along with the world ending explanation. Overall, I am very excited for it to be revived and cannot wait until they start airing what they got in store for all of us. So we all got to do is wait, believe, and be patient. What ideas do you have that you like to see happening or what plots do you want them to dive into? Let's make this a discussion, shall we.
